Bat Houses on Cranbrook Campus

With help from the landscaping department, OBC erected 9 bat houses around Cranbrook’s campus in 2009.  All of the bat houses were mounted on 20-foot 4x6 posts and are located near water.  The goal is to help reduce insects on campus, provide alternative housing, and educate people about the importance of bats in our ecosystem.  The bat houses provide the Cranbrook campus with a valuable learning tool and we will continue to monitor their status each year.
